OLIVIER NOTTELLET
Olivier Nottellet (b. 1963) is a French artist based in Lyons. He is often presented as a sketcher although his drawings reveal more of the mass than the line. He chooses neither the representative nor abstract but mostly places himself at the edge of both. Black is his color and, like a sculptor, Olivier Nottellet proceeds by the addition and removal of matter. Each of his submissions appears like an enigma to decode but ultimately, the question of interest is: what do I see when I look? Nottellet's works are part of numerous public and private collections such as Fonds National d'Art Contemporain (National Fund for Contemporary Art), FRAC Ile de France and Basse Normandie (Regional Fund for Contemporary Art for Lower Normandy and Ile de France).
